Is it possible to just monitor the host server?

We've just rolled out a new SSAS only sever which we'd like to monitor. I'm aware that SQL Monitor does not support SSAS (shame), however I'd still like to monitor the host machine. Whilst this won't give us detailed insights into how SSAS is performing, it will give us the basics (CPU/Memory) and allow us to configure alerts.

I've added the new server into our existing instance without issue. The server is not showing in the overview, or alerts section of the tool, but it is available in the analysis section. Is this the expected behavior?

    Hi @JasonRobbins,

The tools is geared towards SQL Server performance monitoring and so if you add a machine that does not have a SQL Server instance on it, there will not be a card on the Global Dashboard nor a Server Overview page to click into as you have seen.

Also as you have seen, you can still find the machine metrics on the Analysis page for that entity since machine level metrics are still being collected for it.

    This is expected behaviour.

    Kind regards,
