I have the same issue. I have to retry multiple times before it connects. If I restart the service it seems to help but it takes as much time to remote in and restart the service as it takes to keep hitting the retry button. This started happening with release 7.

    Hi @bilzin and @SteveBarry

We usually see this with monitored entities (see this documentation page) however when it's related to the base monitor service connection I would presume it's a similar issue but with the SQL Instance that houses the RedGateMonitor database (the data repository).

Are you able to provide any snippets from the log files located at C:\ProgramData\Red Gate\Logs\SQL Monitor\Base Monitor.log that may provide more context for the error?

    Kind regards,

Thanks for the response @Alex B . I looked in the log but didn't see anything. it's hard to narrow down because the timestamps run into the future. The next time I see the error I'll check immediately.
