Yes you are correct, at the moment SQL Code Guard only supports SSMS 2016.
At the moment we are focusing our effort to add a Code Analysis capability to SQL Prompt (based on SQL Code Guard) and we don't currently have an ETA for adding SSMS 2017 to SQL Code Guard.
