Does SQL search work on schema besides dbo schema?

rgfriendrgfriend Posts: 21 Bronze 2
I have SQL search 2.4 installed. I tried to search an object in a database that has only schema other than dbo, but I cannot find anything even that object exists in the schema.

Does SQL search only limits to dbo schema?

Thanks

    Hi @rgfriend!

SQL Search does work on other schemas. I believe we had a support ticket open for you on this and the issue was that the wrong server was being searched, but you were seeing the expected results for other schemas after changing the server.

If you are still running into issues, however, please let us know!

Hi @mikebu, sorry to hear that!

In case the index files SQL Search has made are corrupted, can you please first try the following:

    1. Close SSMS
    2. Go to %localappdata%\Red Gate\SQLSearch 2\Indexes, and delete all files there
    3. Restart SSMS and try searching again

If that doesn't help though, can you please check your latest log file in %localappdata%\Red Gate\logs\SQLSearch 2 for any instances of "Exception while re-indexing" and send across the full exception entry if there is one?
