Am I right thinking sp_server_diagnostics should be ignored? Just started with SQL Monitor. Getting "Long running query" from all instances, SQL process fragment is sp_server_diagnostics. Trying to exclude it, but no success so far. In Edit Alert Configuration, text box "Exclude queries with a SQL process name matching the following regular expressions:", entered sp_server_diagnostics, no effect. The alert is still there. I clear it, it appears again.

  • Hi all,

FYI, Here is the resolution to this situation:

Putt the text "sp_server_diagnostics" into the next field, titled "Exclude queries that contain SQL commands or objects matching the following regular expressions: "

The end goal was not to have the alert triggered if it's caused by "sp_server_diagnostics" procedure, and the "Exclude queries that contain SQL commands or objects matching the following regular expressions: " field is exactly for that.

Thanks to Endix for his resolution, time and patience!
