SQLPrompt Causing SSMS To Hang - This Fixed It for Me!

I've been using SQLPrompt for years and love it.  Could not live without it.   It started dragging/hanging pretty badly a couple of days ago, which I can typically solve by restarting SSMS.   I connect to a number of very large database systems and eventually SQLPrompt just runs the memory into the ground - an acceptable downside given the value I get out of it.

This time - restarting didn't solve the issue.   SSMS would hang indefinitely, and also hang Windows - my machine was a brick.  After numerous attempts to reinstall both SSMS and SQLPrompt, trying different versions of each, it occurred to me that the SQLPrompt configuration files were being preserved, and perhaps there was a corruption issue with one of those files.

I renamed the "SQL Prompt 10" folder at {user}AppData\Local\Red Gate\ and then reinstalled SQLPrompt.  Problem solved.

Hope this helps someone.
