Fields differing in white-space are reported inconsistently

I just encountered a case where a comparison reported differences between rows in two databases. One of the fields was high-lighted. When double-clicking it, a pop-up window called Viewer reported that the values where identical. (showing a =, rather than a =/).
I think the tool should be consistent about values being identical or not. I found a project option to Trim trailing spaces, but this doesn't work for other white space.

Can you please reply back with another example as I am confused by your example:
(a =, a=/)

The SQL Data Compare development team have given me the following update:
There is a known issue with the difference viewer whereby it doesn't show differences if there are line breaks, spaces, tabs and carriage returns. Therefore the viewer can incorrectly show data to be the same when it is not.
This issue will be fixed in the next version of SQL Data Compare scheduled for release in Q4 later this year.
